one of my friends is going through a period of self doubt and shame..
Failure to reacj others expectations was the trigger.
She has become so self concious and so broken.For the first time since I've met her,she showed her weakness...probably a normal process in a friendship. But I was in that period of self-doubt before and its not the best place to be. Especially when you are a student. Me,wada and alnokhitha tried to convince her...that she doesn't need to change her personality , she has to be strong and focused on the essential things in life.the secondary things will follow.
'It's all about karma dear friend ,and Belief in God's will...'
what is the best remedy for this period of judgement and self-hate?..Is it a big mug of hot chocolate...?
maybe what she needs is more than self relief...coz dwelling on the past or on what other people think will make her feel worse.The secret is simple but need mind power and a will of steel, It is to plan a reasonable easy to follow a plan+a little help from good friends.

It was a warm day (the banana's prayers were answered..look at the banana tree’s post)
The flowers in bloom, the bees are buzzing and me running away from the bees. It all made a perfect picture of peace and harmony :>
Looking at the people and the couples...I felt a lil envious...because I was by myself. I laid down on the beautiful grass and a fly flew by and landed on my thigh, I was happy. At least the fly cared to keep me company..
The jealousy subsided and I had a big grin on my face....because everybody was happy playing football and catch. Some of them were juggling some sticks. Others were too busy kissing under the warm sun. I found other loners but looked more pathetic than I did..
I hope you like the pictures I apologise for the quality! :P

Everyone wants to be perfect, maybe? I want to be a perfectionist, isn’t better than being out of control?
But then being a perfectionist is so much work. It is time consuming + takes time to get used to and when a tiny thing goes wrong …everything can fall apart and you have to start over.

So how can you be yourself, look after yourself, do your work but still enjoy it?
Any Ideas?

banana tree

I have the worst kind neighbours.They are fresh from india.six living in the same ground floor appartment,everyday I see some new indian face walking around the appartment block...They are sooo noisy .they have parties at the weeked playing really loud indian music!they sometimes gather in the block's garden and chat or talk on the mobile loudly bilsa7a !
Yesterday morning when I got out from the block,I saw one of them putting a banana tree outside their door.I was so surprised! The banana leaves were dying ,I felt sorry for the banana tree ,Will it survive the frosty days and the freezing nights of dublin city.It's getting warmer in dublin,but come on... it will never be warm enough !
However,I understood why they wanted a banana tree,It's because they are home sick!
I'm home sick too ,but I don't think I'll bring a palm tree and put it on my doorstep :P

I love surgery. It’s exciting; nerve wrecking and you work with your hands. It’s probably the only way to provide permanent cure to the patient,unlike drugs.I always watch surgeons in amazement wondering how they have the heart to cut through a person. The last time I was in an OR was a two weeks ago. I was observing a thyroidectomy with one of our professors. This professor is soooo cute,he just makes the funniest comments (me and my Malaysians fell in love with him instantly). Every time he passes by we say ‘aaaaah isn’t he dreamy…’ He has the bluest eyes in the world,they match the blue surgical gown.
Before the thyroidectomy he asked me what’s your name ‘umm you can call me NORA’ he said ‘okaay NORA’ I nearly fainted! I told him the wrong name, why the hell did I do that!! His eyes are so blue they confused me!!
He said ‘what are you waiting for go scrub in’
I was jumping from excitement!! I told my Malaysian girls and they became soo jealous! ‘You’re so lucky’
I Scrubbed in and ready to go. He asked me to assist him in the surgery : > he was really impressed by me,I held the strap muscles with the forceps,ligated some arterioles and I laughed at his jokes! He thinks I’m the greatest forceps holder ever!( : / okay maybe he didn’t say that, but It’s my story and I want to make it exciting!!) however he did say ’Thank you NORA!! You did a great job!’ This is good enough for me!

Hanging with my malaysian pals is alright. we share the same religeon,but we do have very different cultures .It's nice to learn from them,They taught me few words like cacha=handsome, chomel=cute , jahad= devil, warna warni= colourful, and ofcourse MAKAN = which means FOOOD!! They are very important words used in our daily life!
I did the same thing and taught them few words in kuwaiti accent shloonich= how r u (for a girl), zaina=I'm ok, hiloo= sweet/cute/yummy, and AY SHAY= which was really hard to explain!
So It took them sometime to grasp the meaning of this important phrase. The meaning is beyond the direct translation which is =ANY THING!
I explained to them we use AY SHAY! when there is something wierd,unusual and unlikable. for example, when you put salt in a cup of tea because u like the taste...That's totally AY SHAY ! coz you did something only a wierd person would do!
My malaysian friends now use the phrase more wisely and accurately!
I'm so proud of them!

Last summer 06, A memory that needs years of thrapy to wipe it off my head.
I had a car accident, how it happened was so quick so scary.
It occured in one of the worst four lane highways in Kuwait,in rush hour and at that time huge trucks were on the road.My dad was sitting in the front seat.We were buckled up with seatbelts.My dad changed the channel to put on the Quran fm.A man was reading some prayers .Isaid amen everytime he finished a sentence.The car on my right suddenly turned to my lane without prior warning.The hit on my car was so forceful It actually hurt my arms because I was trying to keep the car steady.The car turned towards the right and I remembered my sister reem,she said to me once few years back did you know there is better chance of surviving in a car accident if you don't hit the breaks? its funny how I remembered something like this.The car was crossing horizontally to the lanes beside me,All I can see was Empty lanes,I couldn't see the cars driving at 100 miles an hour.Its as if God didn't want me to see anything but the road.I looked at dad and he was clenching his teeth like I was.The car wheels hit the pavement.I felt the force of that running through my arms.I looked at dad again and so scared for him.The car flipped to the other road next to the highway.The car was shaking as it rotated.The seatbelts were getting tighter and tighter,I was holding the steering wheels and My palms were getting sweaty.Dad held the hand rest of the side door.His white '3itra fell from his head to the roof of the car.I was scared that something bad might happen to him and that I would never forgive myself if it had.The car flipped until It landed on its wheels in the desert beside the road.The lamp pole scrached the car and It was near my dads window.The moment we landed I unclenched my teeth however I couldn't speak .I saw my dad he asked me 'are you you ok?' I nodded slowy .My gaze was a mix of fear and amazement.Dad opened the door there was enough space between the lamp post and the door to get out.I looked at the road infront of me,Cars and trucks were moving as if nothing had happened.It was as if time had stopped for us when I lost control of the car.I saw a white car and a white 4x4 parking on the other side of the highway. My eyes went back to the lamp post It was too close.My dad could've been killed.Dad opened my door and he said 'the wheels are in the sand they have burst'.I told him 'dad the lamp post was so close to you'.He held my arm tightly and he smiled and joked about what had happened. My dad eyes were relieved I'm ok .I felt like I miss him although he was standing infront of me .I asked him if he's ok.He replied 'just my neck and back hurts' then I asked how badly damaged the car was.he replied 'the sides are heavily damaged but the roof of the car is ok'.I heard Police sirens ,help was on the way.Dad called mom.I was so scared of her.I felt I dissapointed my parents.Mom will be really angry.He gave me the phone.Mom said 'hi baby are you okay?'As soon as I heard her sweet voice I started crying.I told her 'mom I'm sorry,the road was busy and we crossed 3 lanes and went to the other road....' she calmed me down and said 'i'll be there in few minutes'.I told her 'mom please be careful'.The police man came over he immediately asked Is everybody ok.Dad started chatting with the police man for a while until mom arrived.the Police man went to the other cars to check on them.Mom picked us up.dad sat infront and I was at the back.Mom gave me her right hand,she steered the wheel with her left and she looked relieved we're safe.We arrived to the police station where everybody was parked.My dad told me to stay in the car.Mom gave him a kiss and hug.She asked me to sit infront.I started talking and she calmed me down '...it's going to be ok honey' she hugged me ,Her eyes were flooded with tears .
The one who was responsible for accident went back to her house immediately after the accident had happened .her brother picked her up.She didn't want to go to the police station,but she did eventually.She kept apologising to me for what happened and that it wasn't her fault,It was a truck who made her turn on me.The other car on my left lane was involved in the accident,My car turned on hers.i didn't even know that.because the moment it had happened ,time stopped for me.
When I went back home.The first thing I did was pray a thank you prayer because God protected me and my dad.
My dear brother Moe called from UK he was so worried and I tried to pretend I'm ok because I didn't want him to worry too much especially because he's far away and he doesn't have mommy to hug him and comfort him.My eldest sister Keemo rushed in from work as soon as she heard.She gave m a big huge hug.She cried and then I cried and Haya-chan was already crying ,Dalaly the tough girl cried too (the other miracle :P she rarely cries so that means I gave her a big scare).
I got a text from my SHO in the hospital.He asked me why I didn't show up .He knew I would never miss one day of A&E.After all I was the girl who was jumping up and down shouting ''YEEEEEY'' when I nailed my first ABG from the miliary TB patient(heh..I feel so guilty right now,where are my manners?)
I texted him back and said 'I had a car accident'. He asked me if I was hurt or in hospital. I replied ‘no Thank God me and my dad are ok but I keep thinking I could’ve ended in the A&E this morning and you would be there to see it' .He said ‘If I see someone I know and care about I would never stand there and watch, I don’t think I can handle it ’ . I was so touched; he made me tear up even more. He made me think I’m probably important after all.
That night mom took me and my sisters to the sea in a beach club. I was so jumpy in the car, its ridiculous. But she didn’t buy us ice-cream: P it’s not healthy! She bought us some bottles of evian and fresh apple juice! After all she is the health guru!
I still have the nightmares, but I’m so Grateful that God protected me and my dad that day. الحمدلله
And thanks to my family and the(super thoughtful) SHO.....

I had a plan tonight,thought there will fireworks on st.pat's but not this year I guess..
It is a cold cold day..very windy! I stupidly decided to walk to my malaysian friends house ...The streets were full of drunk people ..all ages and it was only seven..
I safely arrived to shyza's house, She was already dressed ( In a green hijab just like I told her so !!)
We took a walk ,we discovered there are no fireworks and there are many drunk people talking to us ...we got scared and went back to her place! where its warm and nice!
She made hot chocolate and we watched a show on TV..something about designers..
Then I went back home...

كتب جاسم حمادي: بينما كنا مع جمع من الضيوف نتناول العشاء في مطعم بأحد فنادق الكويت العاصمة أول من أمس، دخل جمع من الأخوة المصريين وجلسوا إلى الطاولة المجاورة وكان من بينهم الفنان الغنائي الشهير عمرو دياب، طلبت الى رئيس طاقم المطعم ان يتكرم بإبلاغ عمرو دياب ان الدكتور محمد العوضي يرغب في فتح حوار معه على هامش العشاء حول الدين والفن والشهرة والجمهور والجسد.
وما إن انتهى الرسول من الهمس بأذن عمرو عن رغبة العوضي في لقائه حتى قام من كرسيه، والتفت إلى العوضي وعانقه، وتم اللقاء الطويل الممتع الثري والصريح من كلا الطرفين وهذا ما دار بينهما:
• العوضي: باختصار يا عمرو وأمام أصحابك ماذا أعطتك الشهرة؟
- عمرو: اعطتني الكثير ولكن أفقدتني الكثير أيضاً!
• العوضي: وما أهم ما فقدت؟
عمرو: حريتي وأعيش كأنني محاصر وأنا الآن أعكف على تأليف كتاب اسمه «الحلم» أتكلم فيه عن تجربتي الفنية، والحقيقة أن الحلم انقلب إلى كابوس!
• العوضي: كيف ترى محاكاة وتقليد الشباب للرموز الفنية؟
- عمرو: تصور، أطلقت لحيتي مرة في احدى اغنياتي فرأيت شباب مصر ملتحياً!! كيف تفسر ذلك؟!
• العوضي يجيب: من سمات الشباب البحث عن قدوة ورمز يشبع من خلاله حاجاته النفسية وأحياناً تكون كاريزما النجم قوية فيتوحد بها الشباب لدرجة الجنون ويقلدونها في ما يعقلون ولا يعقلون... لذلك يا عمرو تلاحظ ان الدعاية والاعلام يقومان على نظرية الاقتران الشرطي، بمعنى أنهم يأتيان ببضاعة ضعيفة أو تافهة أو عادية ويجعلان النجم الغنائي أو الرياضي المحبوب يصور معها، هذا الارتباط بين السلعة والنجم هو الذي يسوقها، فحب الرمز يسوق ما يتناوله من مشروبات أو يركبه من سيارات أو يلبسه من بنطلونات.
- عمرو دياب: كلام جميل وصحيح 100 في المئة.
• العوضي: لقد بلغت شيطانية الدعاية والإعلان إلى حد ان جمعت بين عالم الفن والرياضة عندما صنعت دعاية للأولمبياد اختاروا لها هيفاء وهبي ونجم المنتخب الفرنسي، والله يعين الشباب. هل تشك يا عمرو لحظة ان الهدف ليس امتاع الناس وإنما استغلالهم من الشركات التي تعتبرهم مادة خام للتوظيف! عمرو: لا أشك أبداً.
ويستطرد عمرو دياب، عايز أسألك سؤال إحنا نشأنا في مجتمعاتنا وفي عقولنا ان العري والتعري هو الحرام الوحيد بينما الكلام عن الظلم، وأكل حقوق الناس وغير ذلك من الجرائم لا تسلط عليها الأضواء... ما رأيك؟!!
• العوضي: الإسلام دين شامل ومتكامل لكن الموروث الشعبي والوعي له دور في تغليب جانب على جانب آخر من أحكام الشريعة وآدابها... فعلينا ان نفهم فقه الأولويات كي نتوازن في تناول أحكام الشريعة، وبالمناسبة عن حديث العري أنا أيضاً أسألك: (ألست معي في ان الغناء المعاصر والفيديو كليب حوّل المرأة إلى حيوان استعراضي، وجسد (لحم) مرمي للذئاب الجائعة؟!) بالله عليك يا عمرو من يقف وراء الدفع بالغناء إلى المزيد من السقوط والفجور لدرجة تغزل فنانات بالحمير والخيول؟!
• عمرو دياب: بصراحة متناهية أقول لك, انهم رجال أعمال كبار وبعض أبناء الأمراء في الخليج ومصر وما لا نهاية!!
• العوضي لعمرو وفريقه ورفاقه وهم على الطاولة:
هل تعرفون الدكتور عبدالوهاب المسيري؟ الجميع, طبعاً أشهر من أن يُعرَّف به!
العوضي مكملاً: الدكتور المسيري له مقال على موقعه في النت بعنوان «الفيديو كليب الجسد والعولمة»، أرجو ان تقرأوه وتحللوه... الرجل رصد ظاهرة قنوات غناء الكليب، وقام باستعراض الأغنية العربية منذ بدايتها وكيف تطورت وما هي القيمة الجديدة والمضافة، وناقش من خلال المقال مفهوم الحرية المطلقة التي لا وجود لها في الواقع، وختم مقاله بما يهمنا جميعاً حيث يقول المسيري: قد يسألني سائل ماكر ويقول: هل استمتعت وأحسست باللذة وأنت تتابع الفيديو كليب الذي تتراقص فيه هذه الأجساد الجميلة حتى وأنت تدرسها وتحللها؟
- ورد عمرو دياب ومن معه، «بماذا أجاب المسيري»؟
• العوضي: أجاب بالمنطق العقلي في مخاطبة كل إنسان حتى لو كان علمانياً أو ملحداً فقال في ما معناه: «نعم استمتعت، ولكن السؤال الذي يجب ان يحاذي المتعة، هل المتعة هي المعيار الوحيد في العلاقات الإنسانية، وماذا يكون موقفنا من المتعة اذا أتت على بنيان الأسرة والمجتمع وحطمت قيمة الإنسان؟!»... أقول لكم: «صدق المسيري، وان كل ما يصنعه هذا الغناء الفاجر تخريب وهدم للأسرة والإنسان والعجيب ان الخاسر الأول هو المرأة!». واضاف العوضي : اعتقد ان الراحــــــــل عــــبــــدالحلـــــيــم حــافـظ مــــقارنة بــــمطربــي الـــــــعـــري وخطاب الجــسد اليوم «يطلع عليــهــــم ســــلـفي»!!
• عمرو دياب: «كثيرون شاطرين» فقط في انتقاد الفضائيات الراقصة وادانتها، مع أن الحل بسيط هو أن تأخذ جهاز الريموت وتقفل القناة وترتاح بدل التبرم!
وقبل أن يجيب العوضي جاءت مكالمة هاتفية لعمرو ثم جاء بعض المعجبين للسلام عليه.
• العوضي: قفل القنوات سيئة الذكر والفعل، هو العلاج النهائي لكنه علاج جزئي ويجب ان نعرف المنهج التربوي السليم في مثل هذا الخلل.
فالإسلام ليس ديناً علاجياً فحسب، وانما هو دين وقائي يضع التدابير الوقائية، أي يمنع كل وسيلة تدفع إلى الشر وتحرض على الفجور، ثم يربي الناس على الإيمان والخلق ثم يعطي موازين للخطأ والصواب ويحدد ما هو حرام وفاحش وما هو نظيف وحلال، ويحارب الذين يحبون ان تشيع الفاحشة في الذين آمنوا، والعلاج الأخير في الحدود يأتي بعد ان يستنفد كل تلك المراحل. لكن يا جماعة: نملأ الجو بالجراثيم الراقصة ونغرق الشوارع والمنتزهات والمطاعم والمجمعات التجارية ونحاصر الشباب بالصور العارية الثابتة والمتحركة وعلى مدار الساعة وبعبقرية شيطانية، ثم نقول لهم أغلقوا التلفاز أو أغمضوا عيونكم! هذا ضحك على الذقون... لأن هذه الدعوة تقوم على امكان تحقيق الغايات الإنسانية النبيلة دون الاستعانة بشيء من وسائلها وهذا ما لا يقره أي عالم تربوي أو مفكر فلسفي، فضلا عن نهج القرآن الكريم الذي يحرم الوسائل الفاسدة، لكي لا تؤدي إلى المقاصد الفاجرة لذا نجد الآيات دائما تدعونا إلى عدم الاقتراب من مال اليتيم ومن الفواحش، لأن الاقتراب يمهد للسقوط! وها أنتم ترون بأم أعينكم كيف سقط الفن بشهادة أهله وكبار أقطابه.
• عمرو دياب: هناك حاجة «منزعج منها» تخص الدعاة والمشايخ كنت في الطيارة وجلس بالقرب مني أحد الدعاة ورأيته وجه نقداً لدعاة آخرين فحزنت ان يكون التنافس بين الشيوخ زي التنافس بين الفنانين، المفروض ان الشيوخ يحبو الخير للناس ولا يغرقوا بالتفاصيل ويعطونا الاولويات وميتحولوش إلى متنافسين على الجمهور مثل الأهلي والزمالك، وشخصيا دون مجاملة أنا قدوتي الشيخ محمد متولي الشعراوي العالم المربي، ولا أخفيك أنا معجب بطرحك وثقافتك الواسعة وأسلوبك الجميل.
• العوضي: علينا ان ندرك ان الدعاة بشر ومن حق أي أحد ان يبدي ملاحظاته على أي طرح ما دام ظهر للعلن وللجمهور سواء كان طرحا فنياً شرعياً تربوياً سياسياً أو اجتماعياً ويبقى النضج والوعي والحدة والعقلانية تتفاوت من شخص لآخر، واعلم ان لا عصمة لأحد بعد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم... فالكل تحت مجهر النقد.
• عمرو دياب: تصور إذا كان الناس يكادون يقدسون المطرب من شدة اعجابهم به، بعض الناس جعلوا لي مذهبا فنيا وبعض البنات رفضن الزواج لتعلقهم بشخصي، ورأيت صوري في بيوت الناس في أوروبا وغيرها.. أنا مصدوم من هذا التعلق.
• العوضي: علشان تدرك أثر الاغواء الإعلامي وبساطة الناس وان الحل ليس بإغلاق التلفزيون، إنما بتصحيح خطأ عام وبتغير الاهداف والسلوك والرؤى والتوبة والثورة على الذات والرجوع لمصدر الأمن والايمان. إذا الواقع لا ينبغي ان يعمينا عن الحق والطرح التربوي الكامل الأصيل.
• عمرو دياب: أحب أن اناقش قناعة كونتها لدي عن مفهوم العبادة، انني أرى ان الذي يكثر من العبادات وهو يطمع في الجنة وما فيها من ملذات وأطايب وحور وانهار... هذا في رأيي انسان طماع لا يحركه لطاعة الله إلا المصلحة... أنا أفهم ان الله ينبغي ان نعبده لأننا نحبه فالحب هو أهم شيء في التعامل مع الله. وبعض الشيوخ يخوّفون الناس من العذاب وبعض البرامج الدينية لا تسمع ترانيمها ودعاءها إلا مع صور البراكين والنيران وهذا شيء مسيء للدين ومنفر.
• العوضي: ما من إنسان منا إلا ولديه ثلاث عواطف رئيسية: 1 - عواطف دافعة تحثه على العمل كالفرح والأمل والرغبة. 2 - وعواطف رادعة تحضه من الاندفاع كالخوف والرهبة والاشفاق. 3 - وعواطف مُمَجدة كالاعجاب والحب والتقديس. والانسان السوي المتوازن هو الذي يجمع هذه العواطف في شخصيته بمزيج متكافئ. وطغيان عاطفة واحدة بشكل متطرف على أخواتها من العواطف الثلاث يحدث الخلل في الشخصية. لذا نعبدالله كما في الآيات القرآنية حباً وخوفاً وطمعاً. صحيح الحب هو الأصل، ولكن اذا دققت الفهم لوجدت ان الخوف كما يقول ابن القيم ينتهي إلى الحب، مثلا يا عمرو دياب أنت تخاف من المرض لأنك تحب الصحة وتخاف من الهزيمة لأنك تحب النصر وتخاف من الفقر لأنك تحب الغنى، وتخاف من النار لأنك تحب الجنة... فهما متلازمان ولو كان الحب حقيقياً عند أهل الفن لاعتزل 95 في المئة منهم عن أعمالهم المناقضة لحب الله.
وهنا قلت: مثال يا عمرو دياب: الواحد منا يحب زوجته لذا فهو يخاف أن تراه مع امرأة غيرها فتتركه... أليس مبعث هذا الخوف هو حبه لها؟!
قال العوضي: وبما أنك تحب الشعراوي فاسمع جوابه، يقول: «من الناس أصناف، والله يراعي تفاوت مستويات عباده، فهناك من يعبد الله وهو يفكر في النعيم المادي والعطاء العظيم في الجنة، وهذا شيء مشروع ونزعة بشرية موجودة، ولكن هناك صنف آخر يعبد الله وفكره متجه إلى رضا الله وحبه والحياء منه والخوف من عقابه أكثر من تفكيره بعطائه المادي... فكما يقول الشعراوي: «هناك من تشغله النعمة أثناء عباداته وهناك من ينشغل بالمنعم سبحانه». وأقول: «المسألة متداخلة ومتكاملة».
• عمرو دياب: ألا تلاحظ ان الناس بتعبد ربنا لكن أعماله خارج الصلاة تناقض العبادة ذاتها... ياكلوا حرام وياكلوا مال النبي كمان؟!
• العوضي: تعرف محمد قطب المفكر المصري؟
عمرو دياب: طبعاً أخو سيد قطب، العوضي: عنده كتاب اسمه «مفاهيم ينبغي ان تصحح»، ذكر ان المفهوم الثاني الذي وقع فيه الخلل عند المسلمين هو مفهوم العبادة على مستويات:
أولاً: فصل العبادة عن العمل فصار الإنسان في المسجد شيئا وفي العمل شيئاً آخر لأنه يجهل ان العمل عبادة.
وثانياً: فصل العبادة عن الأخلاق فنجد المسلم حريصاً على الشعائر التعبدية في أوقاتها وأماكنها ولكن أخلاقه مع العالم «زفت»، وثالثاً: فصل العبادة عن المتعة فتجد الصائمين في نهار رمضان هم الذين يحيون الخيام الرمضانية الماجنة ليلاً.
وكل هذا لأن العبادة فرغت من محتواها ومقتضياتها ولوازمها وتحولت إلى عادة أو واجب وقتي ثقيل كأنه توقيع كرت الوظيفة والدوام... أي مجرد أداء الواجب!!
في نهاية اللقاء جلس عمرو دياب مع العوضي على طاولة صغيرة منفردين عن الجميع ولا ندري بماذا تصارحا وماذا دار بينهما وجهاً لوجه،
وهذا ما رفض العوضي الإفصاح عنه حين عودتنا بالسيارة.

Just miss my lil star...that little girl.She's my cousin.She is the youngest of four.She grew up to a talkative lil girl :) she doesn't remeber me very well cause I see her every year once or twice.She doesn't remember the days when I used to babysit her!I took this picture when we were in 'nady al'6oba6' last summer'06. She wanted us to make a big star,my sisters and cousins worked on it.
since the camera quality is really bad ( old camera phone) and it was so dark the picture is a bit fuzzy!

since we are in the issue of LOVE...I know valentines is over,but love is always in the air.
As single women we have this radar for really cute men ...Me,ilnokhitha,wadaaa and my princess always gossip about cute men wether they are in college or in hospitals we work in. We just like talking about men. So the other day me and one of my friends were sitting on a table in tallaght hospital talking about my stupidity :P another interesting subect that will often shock you.
She suddenly stopped talking and her eyes were wide open....she said don't look don't look,pretend you're eating .. :/ I was eating,didn't have to pretend! :) ofcourse i asked curiousely...where should I look? she replied ,noo noony don't look please! I said which table,she said ok...you know that guy that me and princess always talk about?I replied you mean the super cute arab guy who looks like a kuwaiti guy or is he the annoying super cute guy with bad manners? she said the first one. I never saw him before so I really wanted to see what the fus is about. She told me 11 oclock...I saw him (he is super gorgeous) and she asked is he looking ? I said no no..he's too busy eating. she said...oh my God I'm so embarressed!!I asked why? she answered because he looked at me and I didn't say hi! I gave him this look... :/ I said....so ? do you know him well? she said no I only met him once...I asked so what's the problem ? she answered..he probably thinks I'm not a nice person! nothing happened ofcourse :) I just thought since he's super cute I have to write something...I'll keep you posted about what happens with this super cute intern and the girls !

First crush...and heartbreak

back to the Gulf war,had my first crush.He was our neigbour exactly my age(7 yrs) i think his name was nawaf ...anyway he and his family moved to our neighbourhood because it was safer than his area.He had a bigger brother about keemos age(9 yrs). Me,keemo and the two boys became friends instantly. We hung out together watched cartoons together...they came over every night to our bedroom( totally innocent!!) to talk and play.Ofcourse dad was really cool back then ..:P heehee boys are not allowed anymore! So one day I told my sis keemo ...'can you keep a secret ? I have a crush on nawaf,I think he's really cute!!' she said I'll keep it a secret,then she burst out laughing... I begged her reem don't tell anyone ...please , it's between me and you.
The next day ,,, I was collecting the coriander petals from our garden,I went back into the ketchen.Mom gave me a look and said 'Awwww my sweet girl has a crush on a boy,ofcourse dad was there too and he was smiling..' I was so shocked and ashamed I wanted the ground to crack up and swallow me.I went to the basement and asked keemo 'why keemo? why?' she laughed and laughed, Then the door bell rang,I went there before keemo does.I didn't want him to know. He looked at me really pissed off ..in my mind I said 'oh nooo'he took his right slipper off and he raised it in the air..'u love me !heh....I'll show you !!'he tried to hit me with his slipper...I ran and went into the house,he ran after me trying to hit me with that slipper and threatening me'I will kill you',I saw reem,she was laughing, I held a box of tissues and I ran after her to hit her with it..she ran away laughing...we looked so funny dad was laughing ,mom was laughing,moe(5 years) was too busy playing with his cars..my sis daaly(the 4th one ...3 years old)started following us because she thought we were playing a game,(haya-chan,1 yr old,was too little to know anything)I let keemo go,she went to our room...I went into the toilet locked myself to avoid being hit...he waited outside saying really mean things to me...so I sat there crying until he went away.After that ofcourse we stopped talking to each other.
my heart mended a week later and learned my lesson ..never trust my big sister with a secret again...
The moral of this story is ...don't trust your big sister if she enjoys making your life miserable...
Thank God she's married...she's nice to me now :P

The 20th of Feb. On my way back home on the Luas (the tram) I was listening to my mp3 player and I’ve put it on shuffle. Was hearing a new song called ‘Ay Shay’ by a new Kuwaiti ‘sensation’! heh! I was about to jump and dance in the middle of the Luas but I have self respect and I kept the feeling inside!
The next song started playing, (…this sounds familiar!) it started with long music…then…I remembered. Its Wa6an alnahar…

It moved me. I suddenly felt like crying.
‘Haven’t heard that song for a while now, maybe 15 years…or more
it made me think about the time this song came out, it was the Gulf war. It was the time when Kuwaiti’s were about to lose the most important human right….freedom. The 20th of February was the time when we all gathered around that radio, hiding in our basement and anticipating the moment of freedom.
Now I remember the song very well. It was sung by one of the best Kuwaiti singers Abdel Kareem Abdel Qader. We saw it on TV and there were those cute children singing with him and doing the song in sign language. They made that song after liberation.

I RAN,RAN.................AND RAN to the cinema to catch a movie for a change , but i forgot the name of the movie once i was over there . And because of that I went to the wrong one by mistake (((A Crapy ''ENGLISH'' Movie))) . Anyway i tried to exchange the ticket with right movie that I was hoping to see ,but the counter was closed and all the staff were humming around the screens and I couldn't sneak into the other movies. So I went back to the screen carrying azyaal el hazeemaha trying to enjoy the movie which I couldn't complete half of it ,So I ran and took a taxi back home.

I have two videos for you,they bring memories :) this operate was before the gulf war .My mom made the clothes design for the Djiboti part of the operate, I remember me and my big sister were her manikins , I was 6 and Reem was 8 (correct me if i'm wrong)! but we didn't dance because we were toooo shy!to be honest,back then I wasn't much of a dancer that's why I failed the school trials! but I could have held the i9ray(the lamp)Its an easy job....I don't want to dwell on the past.

Last night at 3-30 a.m., I cancelled plans with my friends by text for today’s day out. I cancelled three plans. I was worried about my exams, one week away, no time to cover everything. I still had essays to write .The fear made me stay up that late and that’s why I texted my friends.
I woke up late, did my usual cleaning, I decided to go to the Malaysian girls to study epidemiology for my exam .I was so suffocated at home. I haven’t checked my phone coz it’s always the last thing on my mind. I changed and I sat down hesitating, Waiting for a good excuse to go join my friends on this nice day. But I said to myself (I do talk to myself sometimes) NO YOU HAVE TO STUDY.I saw my phone eventually! Many missed calls; I had almost 6 missed calls from 4 friends. As I was texting them saying ‘what’s up girls got…’’My mobile rang in the middle of my text. I replied, immediately saying ‘was just texting you …. Shloonich?’’ I heard a crying voice saying… It’s an emergency ,I’m in deep pain….
I was so scared .The first thing in my mind was to call 999 .
I told her in a serious voice I have to call the Ambulance, She insisted I shouldn’t, she called the GP and she wants me to be there with her. To me it sounded more serious but she kept insisting not to call the ambulance. I thought it was appendicitis or something else. (Ismillah 3alaiha, Allah iy7afe’6ha min kil shar)I changed quickly leaving …I took a taxi. My heart was racing. I was praying, I hope it’s nothing serious. I arrived to her place. I took the lift I tried to fix my messy hair in the lifts mirror…oops wrong floor, finally got to the door of the apartment. The door was open. I went in….. ‘SURPRIIIISE@@”HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :> I hugged her really tight relieved she’s ok and happy to see all my friends around me. They wanted to make up to the failed surprise party they gave me last Tuesday coz I ruined it :P me and my big mouth. It was the best surprise birthday I’ve ever had!
Thank you girls…. :**** the gifts were wonderful too I had a Lebanese cook book(since I love cooking) and a huge Lush Gift Box full of goodies…And best of all they cooked for me margoog and machboos diyay ….and I had my chocolate cake just what I wished for :>
You make me happy …and You made my day
I think My birthday(belated birthday is finished…but I still have a birthday dinner given to me by my Malaysian friends….I guess I’ll finish celebrating my birthday at the end of this month : P The best month in the year!

When an Irish ask me where are you from I reply from Kuwait. Usually they say oh you’re very rich then, sometimes they say ummm Croatia?? (Do I look blonde to you?) And rarely ( : P not that rare)Kuwait where? I would then say it’s next to Saudi Arabia and Iraq which sorta freaks them out. It’s alright I’m proud to be a Kuwaiti National!!
I was so proud to see a Lush Fuzzy Soap with the Kuwaiti Flag(It is something big for me as a Lush lover).....

I was born the 13th of February 1983.Which makes me officially 24 today. Since coming to Dublin, Usually my birthday goes like this... few texts from some family and close friends, maybe dinner at night, probably a nice cake...few gifts .Nothing fancy just a simple low key and no party. I was surprised by a birthday party thrown by my sister few years ago, desperately trying to make me feel good about myself .Oh yea I threw a birthday party for myself ,the 1st year of college in my apartment ( I pity myself )
But this year something changed. Everything from the beginning of this year seemed more vibrant and life wasn't as miserable as it used to. I had the best three gifts in the world. First gift, I celebrated new years with my brother! Second gift my parents and little sister visited me for a weekend. And thirdly I have no lectures on my birthday!!! Heeheeheee...yeeey for me. (I got a hundred euro and nice dinner from my brother +a nice card, I got hp laptop (windows vista) and printer+nice card from my parents+qarshat boo deech. My dear older sister sent me a nice pyjama with Japanese cartoon character on it. And I received a Pink Zen this morning sent to me by a dear friend :> ...oh and I’m having lobster for dinner!) Maybe my karma is working for me coz I’m a nice girl! I don’t know bas Il7imdillah for everyone who loves me. I’m so grateful!
